Chloë Sevigny on Louie, still the coolest girl in school.
While we’re at it, here’s a lovely piece of writing on Louie by commenter AER on vulture.com:
“I’ve only seen episodes from the current season so far, but another thing that’s struck me is that even in that compact, tight little episodes, he’s not afraid to let the “story” wander off into these great little (often wordless) interludes. I’m thinking of the long shot of him and Melissa Leo getting out of their vehicles and arriving at the dinner date (so many shows would have tightened that considerably) or Louie and his lifeguard friend just wandering a Miami neighborhood for a few minutes before arriving at the party, or him and Parker Posey ducking into that deli and sampling food for a couple minutes. I love that he’s not ever seeming in a hurry to the next big punchline. The best analogy I can give is memories of old episodes of Sesame Street where the bridge between two very different segments would just be footage of two kids eating ice cream or chasing butterflies in the park or some guy painting a house or whatever.”
